Haddad should announce Anelize Lenzi Ruas de Almeida as attorney general of the Treasury

The future Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad (PT), is expected to announce this Monday (19) the Deputy Attorney General of the National Treasury, Anelize Lenzi Ruas de Almeida, for the command of the PGFN (Attorney General of the National Treasury) of the government elected by Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).

The disclosure of another name from Haddad’s team is scheduled for 12:30 pm in Brasília.

Anelize Lenzi Ruas de Almeida has been a Treasury attorney since 2006. Master in Public Policy from the University of Oxford and post-graduated in Public Administration from FGV (Fundação Getulio Vargas), she served in the Deputy Head of Legal Affairs at the Presidency of the Republic.

She was also chief prosecutor of Active Debt in the 1st Region, chief of staff of the PGFN, and director of Active Debt Management of the Union –current Deputy Attorney General for Active Debt Management and FGTS (Fundo de Garantia do Tempo de Serviço ).

The PGFN is linked administratively to the Ministry of Finance and legally to the AGU (Attorney General of the Union). Currently, the agency has Ricardo Soriano de Alencar as attorney general.

Last Tuesday (13), Haddad announced two names of his secretariat. Former banker Gabriel Galípolo will be the portfolio’s executive secretary, the second most important position in the ministry, and economist Bernard Appy will occupy a special secretariat for tax reform, an area in which he is a specialist.

The future Minister of Finance has said that he will need to have a “plural” team and that the choice of members of the portfolio will depend on the option made by Lula for the Ministry of Planning to have a “cohesive” team.
