In the background is the building – a model at an international level that will house the needs of 4 disabled associations and is in an advanced stage of construction, with the Lambda Development to have taken over the entire cost of its construction, was signed today in Elliniko Memorandum of cooperation between the Municipality of Hellinikon-Argyroupoli and Lamda Development (100% subsidiary of HELLENIKO M.A.E.). The main objective of the Memorandum of Cooperation is for the benefits of the Hellinikon project’s regeneration to spread more directly and faster to all the residents of the Municipality and to the wider society.
In particular, the memorandum was signed, at a special event organized today, by the CEO of Lamda Development, Odysseus Athanasiou and the Mayor of Hellinikon – Argyroupoli, Yannis Constantatos. The event took place at the construction site of Ellinikos, specifically in the first complex of buildings that Lamda Development will construct and deliver to the Municipality of Ellinikos-Argyroupolis within 2023, which will house 4 disabled associations (Amymoni, Ermis, Niki – Victor Artant, Association People with Multiple Sclerosis).
The CEO of Lamda Development, Odysseus Athanasiou, stated: “A few days ago, we announced the complete upgrade and renovation of sports facilities in various regions of Attica, in Paiana, in Thrakomakedones, in Piraeus, in OAKA. It was another tangible example of how the benefits of Hellinikon spread to every corner of Attica. At the same time, this fact shows the priorities we have, where sports and culture have a special place. If there is something that is even more important to us, it is our fellow human beings who face special difficulties. Difficulties that most of us do not have in our daily lives. We are therefore particularly happy, as four Associations will have their own house very soon, before the Autumn, which will be handed over to the Municipality of Ellinikos-Argyroupoli”.
The Mayor of Hellinikon-Argyroupoli, John Constantatos, stated: “Today is a historic day for the local government which shows that when it supports big investments with a vision and sets its own wants, as a local community, the day of vindication is coming. The completion times of the disabled project are very fast. And this is the first building that Lamda Development delivers in the coming months to the local community and especially to its most sensitive part, to our children of the 4 clubs located inside the airports. This is just the beginning. We are here to work together so that the investment can be completed smoothly with the support of the local community, but also for the local community to experience multiple benefits such as this building and many more such as the Pontia building, sports facilities and others that we will see in the near future . I am very happy and thank Odysseus Athanasiou and Dr. Spyros I. Latsis because they were reliable interlocutors and put into practice what we demanded. They proved that words do not precede actions but actions precede words. This unites us as a strong team for the future.”
Among other things, the memorandum of understanding and cooperation provides for the following:
The Municipality of Hellinikon – Argyroupoulis and Lamda Development agree that the organized and coordinated support and close cooperation between them are the factors that will contribute to the most efficient effects and will contribute more effectively, in terms of infrastructure and actions, to the strengthening of cultural and economic life of the Municipality and local communities.
The parties agree on the time and procedure for delivery to the municipality of specific spaces for public uses, including the following:
– The building complex for the disabled
– The area of ​​the park/playground in Agia Paraskevi
– Three (3) preserved buildings to serve the housing needs of local associations, a municipal nursing home and administrative services in these buildings
– Open sports facilities
– The building blocks in which the municipality intends to build Pontia Palace and City Hall
In the context of the cooperation between the two Parties, Lamda Development undertakes vis-Ã -vis the Municipality to ensure the access of the citizens and residents of the Municipality to a certain part of the Elliniko beach and the free use of the relevant equipment (umbrellas, sunbeds, etc.) after the completion of projects.
At the same time, the company will ensure that, when there is a need for recruitment, the CVs of citizens and residents of the Municipality that have been submitted to it, are evaluated as a matter of priority always in accordance with its relevant procedures and policies.
