Alckmin chooses former governor Jorge Viana to lead the Apex

The graduated vice-president, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), announced this Friday (30) the choice of Jorge Viana (PT), former governor of Acre, for the command of Apex (Brazilian Export and Investment Agency).

A forestry engineer, Viana was part of the technical group for the environment in the transitional office of the president-elect, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The agency is once again part of the structure of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, a portfolio that will be headed by Alckmin.

The future Minister of Social Development, Senator-elect Wellington Dias (PT-PI), announced eight names that will make up the second echelon of the portfolio. Sociologist Letícia Bartholo, who will head the Single Registry and Information Management Secretariat, was one of those chosen.

Viana was tipped to assume the authority of the climate emergency, a position that is under dispute within Lula’s team. Former Minister of the Environment Izabella Teixeira is one of the names evaluated for the role.

Apex promotes Brazilian products and services abroad and works to attract investment.

Alckmin also announced this Friday (30th) the choice of Tatiana Prazeres to head the Ministry’s Foreign Trade Secretariat.

Director of International Relations and Foreign Trade at Fiesp (Federation of Industry of the State of São Paulo), Prazeres is a career employee at Mdic and a columnist at Sheet. She will end her column in the newspaper, in accordance with what the Writing Manual requires.

Former governor of Piauí, Dias announced this Friday the names that will be part of his team from January. The Ministry of Development, Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger manages the federal government’s social programs, such as Bolsa Família – now called Auxílio Brasil, but which will be renamed during the Lula government. In the administration of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the folder is called the Ministry of Citizenship.

According to the future minister, the nominees were chosen “for their skills and abilities”. “Together we will continue on the mission of taking Brazil off the hunger map and taking care of those who need it most”, he wrote on a social network.

For the position number 2, the nominee was the lawyer Osmar Júnior, who acted in Dias’ management in Piauí. “He has already been vice-governor, state secretary of government, federal deputy, leader of the National Congress and has actively worked on pro-Piauí actions in the fight against the pandemic”, he described.

Rannier Ciriaco, who was representative superintendent of the government of Piauí in Brasilia, was announced as the future assistant executive secretary.

For the Secretariat of CadÚnico (Cadastro Único for Social Programs of the Federal Government) and Information Management, Letícia Bartholo, sociologist and master in demography, in the area of ​​public policies and population, was invited. She served as Deputy National Secretary of Citizenship Income between 2012 and 2016, in the Dilma Rousseff (PT) government.

“She has more than 20 years of experience in anti-poverty programs and will contribute a lot to the MDS”, wrote the future minister.

In an article published by SheetBartholo, who signs the text together with other authors, said that CadÚnico –the national base of socioeconomic data essential to operationalize various social programs– was being misrepresented by the Bolsonaro government.

For the National Secretariat for Food and Nutritional Security, the name appointed was that of Lilian dos Santos Rahal, master in sociology, career federal public servant and specialist in public policies and government management. She participated in the government transition working group.

Deputy Governor of Sergipe, Eliane Aquino was chosen to head the National Secretariat for Income and Citizenship. She was part of the transition cabinet’s human rights technical group.

Former director of Banco do Nordeste, Luiz Carlos Everton de Farias will be the secretary of Socioeconomic Inclusion. Farias presides over the Development Agency of the State of Piauí.

Wellington Dias also chose state deputy André Quintão (PT-MG) to head the Social Assistance Secretariat

The secretary for Care and Family will be the sociologist Laís Wendel Abramo. She was the executive coordinator of the Transition Working Group. Abramo was director of the ILO (International Labor Organization) office in Brazil from 2005 to 2015.
