January birthdays can now redeem FGTS birthday withdrawal

Workers born in January who opted for the FGTS (Service Time Guarantee Fund) birthday withdrawal are already able to use the money.

The amount has been available since this Monday (2) and can be withdrawn within three months later, that is, until March 31.

Those who had a birthday in November 2022 should pay attention, as they have until the end of this month to withdraw the money referring to last year’s calendar.

The withdrawal method introduced in 2019 is optional. Through it, workers with a formal contract can withdraw a portion of the balance of the Guarantee Fund in the month of their birthday. Check out the full calendar below.

Workers who want to migrate to this system must inform Caixa Econômica Federal, which can be done through the FGTS application. After informing the CPF number and password, the banner “FGTS Anniversary Withdrawal” will appear on the home page.

Those who opt for the birthday withdrawal until the last day of their birthday month can receive the amount in the same year.

If you change your mind, the worker can ask Caixa to return to the conventional modality, in which it is possible to withdraw the entire FGTS in case of dismissal without just cause. The only legal requirement is that the migration be carried out two years after the return request.

Caixa points out that the option for a withdrawal modality reaches all employment contracts while they are in force.

“Thus, if a new employment contract is signed while the worker is in the birthday withdrawal modality, it is governed by this withdrawal modality until the worker requests the change and the grace period is fulfilled. In the same way, if the If a worker is fired during the anniversary withdrawal period, he will receive a termination fine and will not be able to withdraw the residual balances, even if he chooses to return to the withdrawal-termination period and the grace period passes”, says the bank.

  • The birthday withdrawal can be requested through the FGTS application and is available after five working days
  • The amount to be withdrawn depends on the total balance deposited in the fund and varies from 5% to 50% of the amount, plus an additional fixed amount that also depends on the total amount.
