Mônica Bergamo: Ministry of Labor will meet with motoboys who organize strike

The Ministry of Labor is due to hold a meeting this week with leaders who are organizing a strike for application delivery people. The gesture was well received by the motoboys, who plan the act for the next 25th in search of better working conditions.

The meeting was scheduled for Tuesday (17th), in São Paulo, and should be attended by the Secretary for Solidarity Economy, Gilberto Carvalho.

In addition to the category’s claims, the proposal by the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) for the creation of a commission dedicated to the issue of regulating work by application – another initiative seen with good eyes by the leaders of the strike – should be discussed.

The government’s move minimizes the fear expressed by a portion of self-employed motoboys. They feared that the PT management would dialogue more with trade union centrals than with those who consider themselves independent.
