After the confusion at the Fiesp assembly last Monday (16), which ended with a vote to remove Josué Gomes da Silva from the presidency of the federation, the entity called a new meeting for next Monday (23).
The idea for the new meeting was a proposal raised at the extraordinary general meeting itself for the creation of a “committee to improve Fiesp’s governance” formed by directors affiliated to the entity.
The invitation to the meeting began to be distributed to the unions this Thursday (19), in the name of Josué himself, a gesture that was interpreted by them as a gesture to clear the dust of the internal fight in the entity.
“The principle of renewed governance, I understand, is the same that motivates the exercise of this presidency: to make Fiesp an increasingly stronger, active, proactive, proud and respected entity in the imperious process of reindustrialization in Brazil”, says the text of the invitation signed by Joshua.
The agenda of the meeting must address the format of the new committee, the indication of names, the number of participants, the period of effectiveness and the date of opening of activities.
Conflicts at Fiesp, led by a group of unions opposed to Josué, surfaced in the middle of last year, when the president of Fiesp involved the name of the entity in acts in defense of democracy to react to the escalation of former president Bolsonaro against the polls.
The internal movement, which had the participation of Paulo Skaf, former president of Fiesp and Bolsonaro’s ally, culminated in the vote to dismiss Josué, but his allies say that the votes were not legally valid. This Thursday, Fiesp released a statement stating that he remains in the presidency of the federation.
