The federal government will start paying the Gas Aid from January 18th to 5.4 million families across the country that are part of the Brazil Aid program, which replaces Bolsa Família.
This Monday (27), 108 thousand affected by the rains in Bahia and Minas Gerais will already have access to the benefit.
The payment for the gas voucher, in the amount of R$52, is made by Caixa Econômica Federal. Initially, the Ministry of Citizenship had informed that the aid would be paid from December to all families, which did not happen. The families that will have the benefit on this Monday are part of a list of one hundred municipalities that had a state of public calamity decreed.
To receive the aid, the beneficiary will use the same cards and passwords used to withdraw the amounts from Auxílio Brasil. The rule applies both to those who will withdraw the benefit on Monday and to those who will have access to the gas voucher in January.
According to Caixa, families who already received Bolsa Família through the Caixa Tem application, in the digital savings account, will be able to continue to use the application for their benefit. Withdrawals can also be made at ATMs, lotteries and Caixa Aqui correspondents, in addition to Caixa branches.
Next month, the money can be withdrawn from the 18th, following the Brazil Aid calendar. The amounts are released according to the end of the NIS (Social Identification Number). The money drops into the account every two months.

The consultation to find out if you will receive can be done through three different service channels: through the Auxílio Brasil and Caixa Tem apps or by telephone, through the Caixa ao Cidadão Service, through the telephone number 111.
Families enrolled in the CadÚnico with monthly per capita family income (per family member) less than or equal to half the minimum wage (R$550 this year) are entitled to the benefit. Families with BPC members will also benefit. The amount received from Auxílio Brasil will not count in the analysis of the family income criterion.
According to the Ministry of Citizenship, there will be a monthly review of the list of who can or cannot receive the amounts. Families who meet the criteria and have women victims of domestic violence under monitoring of urgent protective measures are given priority.
In all, R$ 300 million will be spent initially to pay the Gas Allowance. The amount was released last Wednesday (22) by the Bolsonaro government. According to Cidadania, the program aims to reduce the effect of the price of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) on the budget of low-income families.
Under the law that created the gas voucher, the amount to be paid in aid is based on the price of a 13-kilogram gas cylinder, according to a survey carried out by the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) based on the last six months . The publication of the values of the cylinder must take place by the tenth business day of the month of payment.
A survey carried out by the ANP shows that, between December 12 and 18, the average price of a gas cylinder in the country was R$ 102. The minimum value is R$ 78, but there are places where the cylinder can reach R$ 140. In the state of São Paulo, the average price is R$ 100.20.
REGISTRATION FOR PAYMENT
There will be no registration opening to receive the benefit. The government uses the CadÚnico information to define the beneficiaries. By law, the program will be financed with resources from the federal government’s royalties in the production of oil and natural gas under the production-sharing regime, part of the sale of the Union’s oil surplus and signature bonus in bidding for areas for the exploration of oil and natural gas.
In early December, Petrobras also announced the payment of a R$100 gas voucher to 300,000 families across the country that are part of social programs to assist people in socially vulnerable situations in communities close to the company’s operations. Petrobras and that participate in projects linked to the state-owned company.
In the state of São Paulo, Governor João Doria (PSDB) started to pay a R$ 100 gas voucher to vulnerable families in July. In all, more than 104,000 have benefited from the money, paid every two months.
There were also no enrollments for the benefit and the amounts were released to those who were already part of the assistance records of the federal, state and municipal governments.
