In Aloizio Mercadante’s first meeting with BNDES employees after his name was approved for the presidency of the bank, this Thursday (26), he made a gesture that pleased employees and demonstrated the shift towards his predecessor, Gustavo Montezano, who cultivated a less friendly.
Under Mercadante, there will no longer be an exclusive elevator for directors, superintendents and guests. Elderly employees, pregnant women, people with disabilities and immunosuppressed people will also be able to use it.
Arthur Koblitz, president of AFBNDES (employee association), says that, with the initiative, in addition to showing management’s change in attitude towards workers, Mercadante opened the way for participation in the debate on the bank’s paths.
The voice, according to Koblitz, will be used to defend the discussion of topics such as the bank’s loan operations abroad.
“These operations are important for the country, for the competitiveness of Brazilian industry. I think this hysteria is anti-national because the government has announced a willingness to go back to doing this type of financing. I cannot understand why Brazilian liberals are against Brazil encouraging The operations had a positive return for the country. The fund that guaranteed the operations is doing very well. It is not broken. The policy of supporting the export of engineering services was important for the industry, for the government’s foreign policy”, he says Koblitz, who is also an employee representative on the institution’s board.
