On a trajectory of expansion in the importation of private label products, Americanas will open operations in two new Brazilian ports in early 2022.
According to the company, which currently receives goods at the ports of Itajaí and Navegantes (SC) and Suape (PE), the expansion will optimize cost and freight.
For Christmas this year, the company says it has expanded its portfolio of items brought from China by 140%. The merchandise arrived in the country in September and October, and most of the volume corresponds to the company’s own brand products.
According to Americanas SA, the planning began in February, because imports from China take up to ten months between stages such as product analysis, quality inspection and shipment to Brazil. The trip takes an average of 45 days, says the company.
