Having recorded weekly gains of 3.72% the General Price Index of the Athens Stock Exchange closed for a second straight session at eight-year highs. Since the beginning of the year, the AXA counts gains of 9.22%.
In particular, the General Price Index closed today, Friday, at 1,015.48 unitsmarking an increase of 1.14%. The value of transactions amounted to 76.31 million euros, while 28,710,570 shares were traded.
The large-cap index gained 1.28%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.69%.
The banking index recorded a gain of 0.77% with Eurobank gaining 1.45% to 1.191 euros, Alpha Bank up 1.01% to 1.12 euros, Piraeus Bank gaining 0.25% to 1, 82 euros and only the National Bank to record marginal losses (-0.02%) at 4.315 euros.
Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Viohalco (+5.02%), ADMIE (+3.39%), ELPE (+2.95%), Mytileneos (+2.94%) ) and OTE (+2.74%).
On the contrary, the biggest drop was recorded by the shares of Terna Energy (-1.07%), Sarantis (-0.67%) and Lamda Development (-0.41%).
Of the individual indices, the largest increase was recorded by the indices of Raw Materials (+3.79%), Industrial Products (+2.81%) and Telecommunications (+2.72%), while the Health indices recorded small losses (-0.28%) and Real Estate (-0.27%).
71 stocks moved up, 35 fell and 21 remained stable.
