Workers born in February who opted for the FGTS birthday withdrawal (Guarantee Fund for Length of Service) begin to receive the annual quota this Wednesday (1st). The withdrawal of this lot can be done in up to three months, until April 28th.
Workers who opt for this modality are not entitled to withdraw the entire FGTS balance if they are dismissed by the employer. The payment of the 40% fine due on dismissal without just cause is maintained.
Release is not automatic. If the worker wants to opt for the modality, it is necessary to join the official FGTS application.
The Minister of Labor, Luiz Marinho, has already stated that he intends to put an end to new requests for birthday withdrawals and that the issue will be discussed in March by the Board of Trustees of the FGTS.
The amount becomes available on the first working day of the worker’s birthday month and can be withdrawn up to three months later, that is, until the last working day of the second month after the birthday.
Anyone who opts for the birthday withdrawal until the last day of their birthday month can receive the amount in the same year, according to Caixa.
