Panel SA: Solar energy companies raise alert about regulation

by

Faced with Aneel’s movement to regulate the micro and mini-distributed generation framework, solar energy companies are pressing the agency to review the interpretation of the tariffs that should be charged to low voltage consumers.

The theme is on the agenda of the Aneel meeting scheduled for Tuesday (7).

The concern, according to Absolar (solar energy association), is that the microgenerator will pay additional fees to distributors in addition to the cost of service availability.

“The implementation of this proposal in the way the technical area did could double the return on investment time, that is, the time that the consumer needs to wait to recover what he invested in his energy generation system. It distances society immensely. of this technology”, says Rodrigo Sauaia, president of Absolar.

Sauaia says he sees positive signs from the rapporteur for the process at Aneel, director Hélvio Neves Guerra. However, he claims that companies do not rule out other alternatives, such as resorting to Justice or Congress, if the sector’s demand is not met.

“We are all concerned that this issue be regulated in the best possible way and that it does not end up becoming a tsunami of lawsuits”, he says.

According to Absolar, Brazil currently has around 17 gigawatts installed in homes, businesses, industries and public buildings. There are, in total, 1.6 million solar systems connected to the grid, according to the entity.
