CES 2022, a major international technology industry conference that takes place every year in Las Vegas, kicks off on Wednesday (5) with key attendance canceled because of the omicron variant. The traditional event, which looks like a swarm of technology with professionals from around the world, this year, will have one day less.
After a virtual edition in 2021 because of the pandemic, now, the CES will be hybrid and will require proof of vaccine, mask and PCR from in-person participants. Before returning home, guests will also be able to take one more test.
Even with the sanitary measures adopted in this edition, Microsoft, Google, General Motors, Waymo, Meta, Twitter, Lenovo, AT&T and Amazon chose to participate only remotely this year.
Remotely will be 40 sessions of conferences and events, including Tuesday night’s speech by Samsung Electronics CEO and Vice President Jong Hee Han.
There will be three days of in-person and remote activities, with more than 2,200 exhibitors confirmed to demonstrate innovations, which this year should highlight the Metaverse and other innovations, such as the John Deere autonomous tractor.
