From today, the payment of monthly traffic fees through the myCar platform is in operation, an arrangement that concerns hundreds of thousands of car owners who have submitted a declaration of immobility.

According to the relevant announcement of AADE, through the platform one can:

  • He digitally immobilizes his vehicle, digitally filing his license plates, without having to visit the DOU.
  • Download the road tax notice and obtain a certificate of non-payment of road tax.
  • Removes the immobility of the vehicle and to pay traffic tax with the month.
  • Be informed of a possible 2017 registration tax debt.

And this year the possibility is given to the owners of I.X. to pay proportional fees only for the time they are in circulation and not for the entire year.

So if someone re-registers their car for one month they will pay 1/12 of the registration fees, for two months on 2/12, for 3 months on 3/12 for 4 months on 4/12 and so on.

This is an option that many owners take advantage of for vehicles that they only use for a few months each year. For example someone who has a car permanently at their holiday home and only uses it during their holidays there.

In the event that, for example, a driver pays for two months of traffic fees, he should know that he can choose any period of time he wishes, in order to remove immobility.

But part of a month, even one day, counts as a whole month. The right to remove immobility is granted only once within the year, while when the period of movement for which proportional traffic fees have been paid expires, the vehicle must be immediately put into digital immobility.

Examples

Owner with a 2,000cc car registered by 31 December 2020 the total cost of registration fees is €615. If the specific person carries out immobility removal for 4 months he will pay 205 euros and for 7 months he will pay 358.75 euros.

A car owner with an annual registration fee of 300 euros who wishes to immobilize his vehicle for a period of four months will pay fees corresponding to 4/12 i.e. 100 euros.

A car owner with annual fees of 500 euros who wants to put it back on the road for three months will have to pay 41.6 euros for each month and a total of 125 euros

A car owner with annual fees of 900 euros if he wants to get back the plates for a period of 6 months will have to pay 450 euros (75 euros for each month).
