A new CEO at Twitter, who will succeed him in the coming weeks, has announced Elon Musk.

The new CEO will take over at Twitter Inc., which recently changed its name to X Corp., he said.

Musk has not named a successor, but according to the Wall Street Journal citing sources, Linda Giaccarino, head of advertising at NBC Universal, was in talks for the position.

“I’m excited to announce that I have a new CEO for X/Twitter. He takes over in six weeks,” the powerful man of the popular platform noted in a tweet.

Musk said he will take on the role of executive chairman and chief technology officer, overseeing the product, software and systems business.

Last December, Musk conducted a Twitter poll asking users of the platform whether or not he should remain CEO, with the majority pointing him “out.”

Musk said he would abide by the poll’s results, but later clarified that he would hand over the position “as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take the job!” In February, he reiterated that he planned to find a replacement by the end of the year.
