Via, owner of Casas Bahia and Ponto, buys logistics company CNT

by

Via, controller of the Ponto and Casas Bahia banners, said this Wednesday (12) that it signed a contract for the acquisition of the logistics company CNT, according to a statement.

The company did not disclose the acquisition values, but said that the payment will be made up of a fixed and a variable installment.

With the acquisition, Via intends to accelerate the offer of “fulfillment” services, when the sellers’ stock is managed by the marketplace owner, and “fullcommerce”, the outsourcing of part of the planning and organization of the e-commerce operation.

The transaction brings the dilution of logistics costs and contributes, among other factors, to increasing customer value over time and reducing the cost of acquiring new customers, according to Via.

The company estimates that the acquisition will lead to reductions of 15% in the dilution of fixed storage costs and 26% in the dilution of variable last-mile costs, both by 2024, according to a market presentation released this morning.
