At new highs of the year and at new highs of 9 years closed today stock marketdriven by strong investment interest in banking stocks.

Investors are advised to buy Greek banks Goldman Sachs pointing out that from a macroeconomic perspective the Greek sector is absolutely attractive on a global level, but also in the context of the emerging markets region, with its shares being significantly undervalued.

O General Price Index closed at 1,136.44 points, up 1.32%. It is the highest close since the session of September 19, 2014 (1148.64 points). The main stock market index since the beginning of the year records a total gain of 22.23%.

The value of the transactions amounted to 96.88 million euros, while 22,437,324 shares were traded.

The large-cap index gained 1.70%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.73%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Eurobank (+5.27%), Ethniki (+5.06%), Piraeus (+3.93%), Aegean Airlines (+2, 83%), Alpha Bank (+2.53%) and OTE (+2.15%).

On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the shares of Elactor (-2.59%), Jumbo (-1.79%) and Motor Oil (-1.21%).

Of the individual indices, the Banks (+4.35%) and Telecommunications (+2.15%) indices recorded the biggest increase, while the Health (-1.96%) and Personal indices recorded the biggest losses Products (-1.41%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Piraeus, trading 8,118,478 and 6,374,780 shares, respectively.

The highest transaction value was recorded by Piraeus with 14.86 million euros and Mytilene with 11.00 million euros.

58 stocks moved up, 44 down and 15 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Bitros +9.38% and Eurobank +5.27%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Mermeren -11.32% and Xylemporia (k) -3.23%.
