The electoral compensation that more than 16,500 employees (civilian and uniformed personnel) of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection will receive for the emergency needs of the May 21 parliamentary elections is being increased.
With the latest Public Employment Service, the amount of compensation for 11,740 employees on a special payroll, for 2,389 Firefighters with a Five-Year Obligation (tenure-track staff) and for 2,428 Seasonal Firefighters (IDOH), is set at 200 euros from 170 euros, which was originally determined.

The amounts of the election compensation for categories of civil servants, including police officers and employees of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, were determined by a decree published in the Official Gazette. The compensation is paid for temporary employment during the preparation and conduct of the parliamentary elections on the 21 May.

In particular, for 56,441 employees who serve in the Ministry of Citizen Protection, of which 54,318 are uniformed members of the Hellenic Police, the compensation was set at 200 euros for the entire period of extraordinary election work.
Also, up to 17,000 employees who serve in the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection will receive election compensation, and in particular: – 170 employees on a uniform payroll (permanent and with an employment relationship of Private Law of Indefinite Time), will be given an amount of 150 euros – 11,740 on a special payroll, 200 euros – to 5,090 with a fixed-term private law employment contract, of which 2,389 Firefighters with a Five-Year Obligation (tenured staff) and 2,428 Seasonal Firefighters (I.D.O.X.), 200 euros and to 273 contract holders of the GPP (I .D.O.X.), 150 euros. The compensation for 350 employees of the Court of Auditors was set at 170 euros. For the judicial and prosecutorial officers of the Athens Court of Appeal, the compensation was defined as follows: The General Supervisor, President of the Three-Member Council of the Directorate of the Athens Court of Appeal, will be granted 780 euros. 10 Presidents of Appeals (regular and substitute) will be given 660 euros.
The sum of 600 euros will be given to 49 Appellants or Appellate Prosecutors, who will be employed in preparatory work as members of the Central Electoral Committee and the Special Electoral Committees of the Athens Court of Appeal.
For 3 Appellants and Appellants’ Deputy Prosecutors, alternate members of the Central Electoral Committee and the Special Electoral Committees of the Athens Court of Appeal, the amount of electoral compensation was set at 600 euros. The payment of a one-off special election compensation to 206 employees of the National Printing Office was also approved.
The amount of compensation for 37 of those who work in the Printing – Bookbinding Department was set at 3,000 euros and for the other 169 the amount of 2,070 euros. For the General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems of the Ministry of Digital Governance, the compensation is 800 euros to 15 employees of the development and improvement team of electoral agent payment applications and 600 euros to 50 employees of the application production support team, telephone support and infrastructure support. Finally, the compensation for 51 employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs amounts to 2,070 euros and to 3,000 euros for 11 employees/executives of the General Aviation Staff.
