Panel SA: Influencer who made a video of Bradesco to reduce meat says she was frustrated with the bank

by

The influencers who produced the Bradesco video suggesting a reduction in meat consumption say they were frustrated with the bank’s decision to remove content from the internet.

The material, released on social media last month to promote a bank application that calculates carbon footprints, was taken off the air after angering agribusiness and led Bradesco’s president to recant.

“We were frustrated”, says Mariana Prado Moraes, influencer who participated in the video. For her, the barbecues in front of the agencies as a form of protest helped to keep the topic on the agenda.

“It was a reaction of hate for the invitation made by Monday without meat, showing how the issue bothers some groups, but climate change needs to be discussed, regardless of the inconvenience generated”, says Moraes, who represents the group of three Green sisters. Marias.

The trio, who have around 28,000 followers on Instagram, publish content on social media to encourage sustainable living through small changes in everyday life, such as recycling, consumption of organic foods and the use of sanitary pads and cloth diapers.

Moraes says that the suggestion to mention meatless Monday in the video came from them, but the script and the final version were previously validated and approved by Bradesco.

“The topic of changing habits in relation to food needs to be put on the agenda, and that happened with the video. The IPCC [Painel Intergovernamental sobre Mudanças Climáticas] made it clear in his latest report that the Earth’s climate is changing and that humans have an influence on it. Among the actions brought, the impact of livestock is one of them”, he says.

She states that Verdes Marias remains in dialogue with Bradesco. But, still in December, the bank wrote an open letter to agribusiness, in which it tried to disassociate itself from the content. In the document, he stated that he would take internal administrative actions because of what happened.
