The submission of tax returns continues with the “arabba”. Although the platform opened earlier than ever, we have entered the 70th day of its operation, only 2.4 million applications have been submitted. tax statementsthat is, a little more than 1/3 have pressed the… click.

After the extension that was given 53 days left until the deadline of 31 July which means that roughly 77,000 applications should be submitted per day when the average so far is only 34,000, well below half.

From the processing of the available data it follows that:

-More than half of the statements, 52.3%, are zeros.

-16.9%, approximately 410,000 statements are credit and they have received €341 on average. Based on the figures, almost 7 out of 10 do not pay tax.

-The remaining 30.8% of the statements are debit. This means that approximately 746,235 tax IDs are required to pay €669 million in income tax. On average, a debit card amounts to €896.5.

While taxpayers are in no rush to file their tax returns, the AADE has put the tax refund machines into full gear. Already 265,745 TINs, more than half of the beneficiaries, have already received their tax refund of €58.1 million. As already known:

-Those who do not have tax or insurance debts and their tax awareness has not been secured, get their money on a weekly basis.

-For those who do not have insurance debts or an awareness commitment but have tax debts but are entitled to a tax refund, the offset is made every first and third week of the month.

-Those who submit a tax return after the liquidation of the ENFIA, any tax refund they are entitled to will be offset against the ENFIA.

-Debts from income tax will be set off as a matter of priority with refund rights from other taxes, which exist or will arise until 31.7.2023, so that in case of payment of income tax through the set-off, a 3% discount will be granted

Income tax must be paid in 8 monthly installments starting from the end of July. However, it is not excluded, as was done last year, to be given the possibility to pay a double installment at the end of August without surcharges and with the taxpayer retaining the 3% discount in case of a one-off payment.

If someone wants more installments, then they will have to put the tax in the fixed arrangement of 24 installments, while there is also the possibility of 12 installments via credit card.
