The deposits of households and private non-profit institutions showed a decrease of 324 million euros in May 2023, with the result that their total balance was 141.7 billion euros, compared to an increase of 1.129 billion euros in the previous month, while the annual rate of change was unchanged at 3.7% from the previous month.

However, according to her data Bank of Greeceoverall private sector deposits increased by 794 million euros, a development that reflects the increase in corporate deposits by 1.1 billion euros.

In more detail, business deposits had decreased in the previous month by 1.145 billion euros, while the annual rate of change decreased to 2.3% from 3.6% in the previous month.

The monthly net flow of financing to individuals and private non-profit institutions was negative by €80 million in May 2023, compared to a negative net flow of €156 million in the previous month. The annual rate of change in their funding was -2.8% from -2.7% in the previous month.
