An amendment by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs hastens the start and the entire conduct of the procedure for setting the minimum wage for 2022, so that the decision on the level of the minimum wage and wage can be taken earlier than the stipulated period, in accordance with the recent commitments of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Specifically, it is stipulated that:
1. The sending of a written invitation by the Coordination Committee of the consultation to specialized scientific and research bodies for the preparation of a report for the evaluation of the current legislated minimum wage will take place within the last ten days of January.
2. The preparation and submission of the report will take place no later than February 28, 2022.
3. The transmission of the memorandum and documentation of each person consulted by the Coordination Committee to the other representatives of the social partners, with an invitation for an oral consultation, will take place no later than March 15, 2022.
4. The transmission of all the memoranda and the documentation of the consultants, as well as the report of the bodies to the Center for Planning and Economic Research (KEPE) for the preparation of a Draft Consultation Finding, will take place no later than March 31, 2022.
5. The draft consultation conclusion shall be completed by 15 April 2022 at the latest.
6. The suggestion of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs to the Council of Ministers for the determination of the minimum wage of the employees and the minimum wage of the craftsmen will take place within the last fortnight of April 2022.
