The number of complaints from consumers who had trouble getting a Covid test exploded at the beginning of this year, according to Reclame Aqui.
From January to December 2021, the group of laboratories and pharmacies that corresponds to more than 90% of the total complaints received 2,496 complaints about Covid testing. This year, in the first half of January alone, the total number of complaints reached 2,113.
Consumers report difficulties to schedule the test, product shortages, scheduling problems on websites and very long waits at units.
According to Reclame Aqui, there are many complaints from consumers who waited in line for hours, but could not be attended to because the test was over. There are also cases of people who had their appointments canceled but only found out when they arrived at the pharmacy or laboratory.
