Downtrends, with low turnover, recorded stock prices in today’s session of the Stock Exchange, amid bearish sentiment in European markets, which are retreating in the wake of the imposition of an extraordinary tax on Italian banks and the downgrading of American banks by Moody’s.

The General Price Index closed at 1,311.19 points, down 0.72%. The value of the transactions amounted to 69.65 million euros, while 17,463,030 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 0.65%, while the mid-cap index fell 1.26%. Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Ellactor (+2.44%), Terna Energy (+0.47%) and Quest Participations (+0.32%). On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of Viohalco (-2.99%), Aegean Aorelines (-2.87%) and PPC (-2.47%).

Of the individual indices, only the Personal Products index (+0.12%) saw a small increase, while the biggest losses were recorded by the Trade (-2.56%) and Raw Materials (-2.15%) indices. The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 3,808,410 and 3,088,349 shares, respectively. Piraeus with 8.50 million euros and Mytileneos with 6.56 million euros recorded the highest value of transactions.

33 stocks moved up, 75 fell and 21 remained stable. The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Xylemporia(k) +11.68% and Akritas +9.71%. The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: CPI -7.23% and Domiki Crete -7.04%.
