Panel SA: Film about Olavo de Carvalho should not include the writer’s death

The project for the film “Olavo Tem Razão”, about the trajectory of Olavo de Carvalho, scheduled for release in the coming months, should not be changed to include the death of the writer, which happened this Monday (24).

Mauro Ventura, director and producer of the film, says that all of Olavo’s appearances had already been filmed. The material also features interviews with students and admirers of the Bolsonarism guru.

According to Ventura, death should delay some issues, but the premiere is still scheduled as before. “We will try to get around the setbacks”, he says. The launch had already been postponed last year because of the pandemic, according to him.

“We didn’t think about changing anything in the film. It celebrates the professor’s life and work and refutes the fallacies that were created against him. That was the promise I made to Olavo in relation to the film and I will remain faithful to this agreement”, he says.

The R$385,000 budget for the film was raised through crowdfunding, according to the production.
