by

The ômicron advances in the construction sites and already compromises the schedule of some works, according to the new survey of the CBIC (Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry), carried out between the 14th and 21st of January.

In 75% of companies, Covid or Influenza certificates reached up to 25% of workers. About 12% had to lay off up to half of the team.

José Carlos Martins, president of CBIC, says that the scenario of the numbers surprised, but it should not affect the sector as a whole. “We will have time to adjust. They are larger schedules that can be easily adapted”, he says.

The survey covers 482 companies surveyed in all regions, with approximately 50% having between 1 and 50 employees. The CBIC also says that about half of them have required full vaccination of employees, in addition to testing workers for the virus.

This Tuesday (25), the federal government formalized the reduction in the period of removal of those infected with Covid-19 to ten days, counted from the day after the onset of symptoms or the test.
