A new significant decline was recorded in the share prices in today’s session with the market falling below the levels of 1,140 units. For one more session, the initial up move was short in duration and intensity and was a “bullish trap” as sellers then prevailed again leading the market into a significant pullback.

The General Price Index closed at 1,136.93 points, down 1.48%. It is the lowest close since the May 19, 2023 session (1,132.34 points). Intra-sessionally it recorded a higher price at 1,163.80 units (+0.85%) and a lower price at 1,135.32 units (-1.62%).

On a weekly basis, the main stock market index registered a drop of 5.99%, while since the beginning of the year it has recorded gains of 22.28%.

The value of the transactions amounted to 84.16 million euros, while 23,349,688 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 1.59%, while the mid-cap index fell 1.57%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the shares of Terna Energy (+2.42%), EYDAP (+1.82%) and GEK TERNA (+0.16%) registered an increase.

On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the shares of Elactor (-3.53%), Coca Cola HBC (-3.42%), PPC (-3.14%), Eurobank (-3.12%), of ELPE (-2.61%) and OTE (-2.50%).

All individual indices closed with a fall and the biggest losses were recorded by the indices of Health (-3.78%), Food (-3.36%) and Telecommunications (-2.51%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Piraeus, trading 5,699,760 and 5,276,555 shares, respectively.

The highest transaction value was recorded by Piraeus with 14.08 million euros and Alpha Bank with 6.98 million euros.

19 stocks moved up, 82 fell and 15 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Austriacard +7.14% and Mathios Pyrimaha +5.26%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Xylemporia(p) -29.17% and Vioter -9.01%.
