The country’s trade balance with Russia remained in deficit in August this year and amounted to 216 million euros.

Particularly, the value of Greece’s imports from Russia amounted to 223.5 million euros, marking a decrease of 81.6% compared to August 2022 which was 1,217.5 million euros. Meanwhile, the value of Greece’s exports to Russia amounted to 7.5 million euros, marking an 8% decrease compared to August 2022 which was 8.1 million euros.

At 8 months, the value of Greece’s imports from Russia amounted to 1,992.7 million euros, marking a decrease of 66.5% compared to the period January-August 2022 which was 5,737.9 million euros. Meanwhile, the value of Greece’s exports to Russia amounted to 66.7 million euros, marking a decrease of 14.5% compared to the period January-August 2022 which was 78 million euros. The trade balance between Greece and Russia was negative and amounted to 1,856 million euros (deficit).

On the contrary, according to ELSTAT, the trade balance between Greece and Ukraine was in surplus in August as well and amounted to 51.7 million euros. In particular, the value of Greece’s imports from Ukraine amounted to 24.2 million euros, marking an increase of 31.4% compared to August 2022 which was 18.4 million euros. The value of Greece’s exports to Ukraine amounted to 75.9 million euros, an increase of 291.1% compared to August 2022 which was 19.4 million euros.

In the 8th month, the value of Greece’s imports from Ukraine amounted to 180.5 million euros, marking an increase of 78.6% compared to the period January-August 2022 which was 101 million euros. The value of Greece’s exports to Ukraine amounted to 453.4 million euros, marking an increase of 122.6% compared to the period January-August 2022 which was 203.7 million euros. The trade balance between Greece and Ukraine was positive and amounted to 272.9 million euros (surplus).
