The decision to cancel the certificate of non-debt of Real Estate Tax for the transfer of property decided by the cabinet according to information during yesterday’s meeting.

It is a document whose issuance significantly burdened the process of completing a property purchase and sale and is part of a series of initiatives taken by the Ministry of Digital Governance aimed not only at digitization but also the reduction of bureaucracy.

It is worth noting that according to the World Bank, the average bureaucratic steps in each country is 4.7 while in Greece it is 11.

The abolition of the TAP certificate comes to provide a solution to a very practical problem faced by citizens and investors, since there were not a few the cases where the delay in its issuance by the Municipalities meant the expiry of validity for other certificates such as tax awarenessleading transfers to a dead end.

This measure is part of the upcoming bill of the Ministry of Digital Governance which is expected to be submitted for public consultation soon and will be presented by the competent Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Konstantinos Kyranakis.

The new regulation is expected to immediately facilitate both citizens and investors with the aim of putting an end to the excruciating suffering of thousands of people who attempt to carry out a transaction in the field of real estate.
