Senator Simone Tebet (MDB-MS), pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic, announced this Thursday (3) the name of economist and lawyer Elena Landau to coordinate the economic area of her campaign.
Elena Landau was director of privatization at BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development) from 1994 to 1996 and one of those responsible for the privatization program of the Itamar Franco and FHC governments.
She is also president of the Academic Council of the Livres movement, which she joined after leaving the PSDB, and a partner at the law firm Sérgio Bermudes.
In an interview with leaf at the end of 2019, he stated that the current government has not made major advances that could be considered a truly liberal agenda in the economic area and classified the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) administration as a “civilizational setback”.
In 2017, Landau left the PSDB after 25 years in the party. She joined Livres, a movement created in 2015. The group was once part of the PSL, but left the party after Bolsonaro joined.
The PSDB began negotiations with the MDB for the formation of a party federation in the 2022 election. .
Among Tebet’s allies, the expectation is that she will rise in the polls because she is less rejected than Doria, and thus attract the toucan to her vice.
