The Public Employment Service begins today the advance payment of unemployment benefits (the regular unemployment benefit, the long-term unemployment benefit and the unemployment benefit for the self-employed), as well as the Christmas gift to the subsidized unemployed, to beneficiaries of the special maternity protection benefit, the parental benefit leave and work allowance.

As the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Adonis Georgiadis, told SKAI 100.3, at noon DYPA will sign a memorandum of cooperation with Amazon Web Services to start a training program for the unemployed for cloud services.

The pilot program concerns 1,000 unemployed people.

Mr. Georgiadis emphasized at the same time that the goal is for unemployment, which fell to 9.6% in October 2023, to be at the European average in two to three years.
