An invitation to other investors from the USA to come and invest in Greece was addressed by the Minister of Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis in his keynote address on Monday at the 25th Invest in Greece forum organized by Capital Link in New York.

The minister developed the positive prospects of the Greek economy, the impressive increase in exports and foreign direct investments and the higher rate of growth compared to the rest of the eurozone, a rate of expansion that is predicted to continue in the coming years.

As he pointed out in his speech at the investment forum, “In Greece today we are witnessing a revolution of common sense. We have a unique opportunity. On the one hand, a correct mix of economic policy that brings results. On the other hand, political stability and a clear mandate to change the country. We are determined to succeed in this historic mission».

The minister’s speech was attended by the former US ambassador to Greece and current Deputy Minister of Energy in the Biden administration, Mr. Geoffrey Pyattand the billionaire mega-investor John Paulson.

Mr. Hatzidakis also had a series of contacts with top executives of investment banks and investment funds.

The minister discussed the prospects of the Greek economy and energy issues with Mr. Pyatt. He also met with executives from Nomura, Morgan Stanley, Lazard Asset Management, Point 72 Asset Management, Goldman Sachs, Stifel, Breakout Capital Partners, Consilience Capital, Ambrosia Capital and Barclays.
Ministers Christos Staikouras and Theodoros Skylakakis, Deputy Finance Minister Nikos Papathanasis and Head of the Public Debt Management Organization Dimitris Tsakonas participated in the Greek mission.

In the context of the conference, Mr. Hatzidakis gave an interview to CNN journalist Richard Quest, emphasizing the positive prospects of the economy and the dynamic recovery of tourism that make Greece the positive surprise of Europe
