As a new positive assessment for the development path of the economy, characterized by Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasisthe announcement of the European Commission on the disbursement from the Recovery and Resilience Fund of the amount of 3.6 billion euros to Greece for grants and loans.
In particular, Mr. Papathanasis stated the following:
“Today’s development is yet another positive assessment, and indeed at a leading European institutional level, for the development course of the Greek economy in general and for the management of the resources of the Recovery and Resilience Fund in particular. The disbursement of 3.6 billion euros for loans and grants is directly linked to the progress of implementing the loan program and critical projects and reforms. Such as the digitization of state records and the strengthening of the efficiency of public administration, the digital modernization of the KEPs, the preparation of urban plans, the completion of training for 150,000 of our fellow citizens, the operation of 50 Mental Health Unitselectrification, the establishment of a Waste and Water Resources Management Regulatory Authority, etc.

From his side, the commander of the Recovery Fund Orestis Kavalakis, said: “Today’s disbursement of 3.6 billion euros of European resources from the Recovery and Resilience Fund to our country now makes it absolutely obvious the importance of this valuable development tool, its different way of working and the speed of the procedures that characterizes. At the same time, it makes more imperative the need to intensify the efforts already made by all the involved bodies, in order to implement the projects and reforms in order to fully utilize the resources, with the universal goal of improving the quality of life of the Greek citizens”.
