The Minister of National Economy and Finance had a meeting with the president of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank (SSM) Claudia Buch and the president of the Single Resolution Board (SRB) Dominique Laboureix, who are on a two-day visit to Athens Kostis Hatzidakis.

Demand focused on the situation and the prospects of Greek banks and the initiatives undertaken by the Greek government to support the robustness of the banking sector and strengthen competition within it. The minister stated that the government is determined to continue on the path of economic credibility and reforms, so that Greece continues to surprise positively, both inside and outside the country.

The meeting was also attended on behalf of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance by the Secretary General of the Financial Sector and Private Debt Management Theoni Alambasis and the president of the Council of Economic Experts Michalis Argyrou, while on behalf of the Bank of Greece the deputy governor, Christina Papakonstantinou, the general manager of Preventive Supervision and Resolution Ioannis Tsikripis and the Director of Resolution of Credit Institutions Vasilios Spiliotopoulos.
