The special electronic platform (https://www.efka.gov.gr/el/asphalismenoi/me-misthotoi/) was launched on 20/12/2023 on the e-EFKA website (www.efka.gov.gr) epilogi-asfalistikis-katigorias), through which the insured self-employed, self-employed and farmers can freely choose the insurance category in which they wish to be classified for the new year 2024, following the route: El. Professionals/ Self Employed/Farmers -> Select Insurance Category Main Insurance, Supplementary Insurance and Lump Sum Benefits.

The choice of insurance category is declared for the Main, Auxiliary Insurance and Lump-sum Benefit branches in a single application and is valid for the whole year. The deadline for submitting the application-declaration of choosing an insurance category is 31/1/2024.

It is clarified that the insured who will not submit an application-declaration of selection/change, will remain, for the year 2024, in the category they were classified in the previous year.

Those employed exclusively as land workers can freely choose the insurance category in which they wish to be classified for the new year 2024 from the online service, Farmers -> Selection of Land Workers Insurance Category.

With the provisions of articles 31, 35, 36, 37 and 45 of Law 4670/2020, for the year 2024 the amounts of the insurance categories of pension, health care, supplementary insurance and one-off benefits of the self-employed insured, freelancers, self-employed , farmers and land workers, are increased by a declaratory act of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, by the percentage change of the average annual general consumer price index of the year 2023, 3.46%.

It is recalled that choosing the higher insurance categories also leads to higher pension benefits.
