The intention of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance to grant a one-month extension for the mandatory installation of POS by the professionals informed the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Haris Theocharis in a meeting he had today with the president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, Yiannis Hatzitheodosiou and the general secretary Dimitris Gavalakis.
During this period of time, as reported by the Professional Chamber, according to what was discussed with the deputy minister, there will be clarifications from the ministry in order to resolve the problems recorded so far, mainly from the banks.
The chamber has highlighted the problem that, in many cases, financial institutions did not supply obligors with POSciting either company debts, or demanding a three-year contract, or a specific turnover.

Regarding this development, the president of the chamber, Yiannis Chatzitheodosiou, said: “What we are now asking for is within the new time framefor the State to contribute to solving the problems that have arisen due to the attitude of the banks and for the market to proceed with the installation of card acceptance terminals – where this is mandatory – without the stress of fines”.
