He pointed out that the deadline ends at the end of February and everyone must have them or there will be a fine – The fines will be graded he pointed out
For the issue tof the interconnection of cash registers with POS and for the fines which are expected to be imposed on the disobedient, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Haris Theocharis, spoke on the SKAI morning show “Mismatches”.
Mr. Theoharis described this project of the government as “complicated” because, as he said, the market was not ready for something like this. As he said “there is the expansion of the POS to 35 branches and the interface with cashiers. Regarding the extension, we gave it one month” he emphasized and pointed out that the deadline expires at the end of February and everyone should have it differently there will be a fine.
“There is a fine that will be issued and a ministerial decision. The fine will be graded and will start from 1,500 euros but there will also be gradations” said the Deputy Minister of Finance. He stressed that even after the deadline there is a way out for those who have not made the connection. “Someone from March 1 has to prove that they have taken it and no technician has come to come and install them, that’s for a month a way out,” he said.
Regarding the upgrades, Mr. Theocharis said that “there is a fear about the upgrades” but he urged businessmen to place their orders as he said their money will not be lost.
For the rural mobilizations
Regarding the agricultural mobilizations and today’s meeting that the farmers will have with the Prime Minister, he said that the discussion will take place with “a negotiating spirit and on the basis of the discussion, convergences may be found”.
Asked if the government could have preempted these mobilizations, he said that “You always want to be preemptive, but this year and due to the pan-European nature of the mobilizations, whatever happened the farmers would come out. I don’t think there would be anything for the government to prevent this kind of mobilization.”
For the Easter allowance
Finally, regarding the Easter allowance, he said that we are still in a year of fiscal adjustment as the country must bring a plus 1% fiscal surplus from 2023-2024, however, as he said, “the situation is not difficult, there are claims. Everything cannot be done.”
