With a modest gain of 0.56%, the stock market ended the week ending positive, closing positive for the fifth straight week, during which the benchmark gained 5.46%, while since the beginning of 2024 it is up 9.29%.

The climate in the international markets was upward with historical records being recorded. The Dow Jones and the S&P 500 closed at new all-time highs on Thursday, marking their 13th and 12th record highs of 2024, respectively. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index also hit a new all-time high, while the Nikkei also surpassed its all-time high dating back to late 1989.
The domestic market has turned its attention to the upcoming sale of Piraeus Bank shares in the context of the disinvestment of the HFSF by the bank.
At the same time, the announcement of good results by the listed companies (Coca Cola HBC, Titan, OTE) continues for the financial year 2023. The General Price Index closed the week at 1,413.26 units, against 1,405.32 units of the previous week, marking weekly gain of 0.56%. Since the beginning of 2024, the main stock market index has recorded gains of 9.29%, while since the beginning of February it has strengthened to a percentage of 3.35%.
The FTSE/ASE 25 large-cap index ended the week up 0.52% and since the start of 2024 is up 9.92%. The FTSE MID mid-cap index ended the week marginally down 0.03%, with a year-to-date gain of 6.50%.
The banking index closed the week with an increase of 0.52%, while since the beginning of 2024 it has gained 16.09%.
The total value of transactions in this week’s sessions was €547.263 million, while the average daily value of transactions was €109.453 million, up from €110.555 million last week.
The total capitalization of the market this week by 350 million euros and stood at 97.539 billion euros, while since the beginning of the year it has increased by 9.652 billion euros.
