Panel SA: Non-alcoholic beer records increase in consumption during the pandemic

by

The growth of the non-alcoholic beer market has drawn the attention of the beverage industry.

It went from a level of 140 million liters sold in 2019 to almost 198 million in 2020.

Then it took another leap, reaching almost 260 million liters at the end of last year, according to a survey by Euromonitor for Sindicerv (a union in the sector).

The segment is still discreet compared to consumption in the total market of alcoholic beers, which exceeded 14 billion liters in 2021, according to the entity, but surprises by the scale of the impulse, even in the most acute phase of the pandemic, with the restriction of the operation of bars and restaurants.

According to Sindicerv’s forecasts, this year’s movement should maintain a similar growth pattern.
