Panel SA: Positive Covid test in pharmacy returns to December level after wave of ômicron

by

The number of Covid-19 tests in pharmacies with positive results continues to fall and has returned to the level of December, according to a survey by Abrafarma, which has been monitoring the situation since the beginning of the pandemic.

Between the 7th and 13th of February, there were almost 99 thousand, a level 40% below the previous week.

The test run has also cooled off. In the first week of February, there were 450,000 tests. Last week, it dropped to around 310,000.

For Sérgio Mena Barreto, president of Abrafarma, the drop reflects the reduction in cases in the country, but fears a new increase after travel and crowds on the Carnival holiday.

According to data from Abrafarma, states like Piauí, Acre and Roraima still have positive rates above 40%. São Paulo and Rio had a significant reduction and recorded 28% and 19% of diagnoses for coronavirus, respectively.
