OAED: Reduction of the registered unemployed in January compared to last year

Approximately The registered unemployed decreased by 59,000 to OAED in January 2022 compared to January 2021. They amounted to 1.112 million from 1.171 million.

The total number of registered unemployed, based on the job search criteria (job seekers), for the month of January 2022, amounted to 1,103,901 people. Of these, 572,900 (percentage 51.90%) are registered in the OAED register for a period equal to or more than 12 months and 531,001 (percentage 48.10%) are registered in the OAED register for a period of less than 12 months. Men amount to 402,647 (percentage 36.47%) and women amount to 701,254 (percentage 63.53%).

The total of other registered (non-job seekers), for the month of January 2022, amounted to 8,650 people. Men amount to 3,192 (percentage 36.90%) and women to 5,458 (percentage 63.10%).

The total number of subsidized unemployed, for the month of January 2022, (concerns the number of beneficiaries paid within the respective month) amounts to 212,800 persons, of which 105,661 (percentage 49.65%) are common and other categories of subsidized and 107,139 (percentage 50.35%) are seasonal tourism professions. Men amount to 91,383 (percentage 42.94%) and women to 121,417 (percentage 57.06%).

From all the subsidized 86,984 unemployed (40.88%) are common, 1,979 (0.93%) are builders, 107,139 (50.35%) are seasonal tourism professionals, 15,370 (7.22%) are seasonal others (rural) , 1,168 (percentage 0.55%) are teachers, and 160 (percentage 0.08%).
