According to Mr Eugenio TornaghiCEO of NEXI Greece, as he stated from the floor of the 9th Delphi Economic Forum, underlining that a cashless society is a common goal, although the level of maturity of the conditions differs from country to country.
“I see only advantages in an economy of completely immaterial transactions. Payments are easier, no one is in danger of being robbed on the street, while black money is also limited,” noted the CEO of NEXI Greece, talking to Dimitris Mallas, journalist of CNN Greece. He pointed out that small and medium-sized enterprises can adapt to the changes through alternatives, such as self-service POSwith which a small businessman can carry out contactless transactions through his mobile phone.
Mr. Tornaghi also mentioned that the transition to a cashless economy is essentially a cultural change, a culture change. He emphasized that in Europe we are moving towards the digital euro which will be anonymous, while when asked about NEXI’s plans in Greece, he replied that the company believes in our country and will probably invest further.
