976,373 people were registered as unemployed in the register of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) in March 2024, recording a decrease of -59,207 people (-5.7%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year March 2023 and a decrease by -40,683 people (-4%) compared to the previous month of February 2024.

According to the registered unemployment statistics of DYPA, out of the total of 976,373 registered unemployed, 479,244 people (percentage 49.1%) are registered in the DYPA register for a period equal to or more than 12 months and 497,129 people (percentage 50, 9%) are registered in the DYPA register for a period of less than 12 months.

Men amounted to 345,445 people (35.4% rate) and women amounted to 630,928 people (64.6% rate).

The 30-44 age group gathered the largest number of registered unemployed among the age groups, which amounted to 313,245 people (32.1%).

The educational level of secondary education, which includes post-secondary education, gathered the largest number of registered unemployed among educational levels, which amounted to 467,784 people (47.9%).

Among the Regions of the country, the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia recorded the largest number of registered unemployed, which amounted to 297,316 people (30.5% rate) and 184,080 people (18.9% rate) respectively.

The total of the subsidized unemployed, in March 2024, (refers to the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month), amounted to 198,858 people, of which 138,172 (69.5%) are general unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed and 60,686 (30.5%) are seasonal tourist occupations.

Specifically, the number of subsidized unemployed people, in March 2024, reached 198,858 people, registering an increase of 3,493 people (1.8%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, March 2023, and a decrease of -52,439 people (-20 .9%) compared to the previous month of February 2024.

Males numbered 89,163 (44.8% rate) and females numbered 109,695 (55.2% rate).

Of the total number of subsidized unemployed, 126,269 (63.5% rate) are general, 3,171 (1.6% rate) are builders, 60,686 (30.5% rate) are seasonal tourist workers, 7,666 (3.9% rate) are seasonal other (agricultural), 913 (0.5% rate) are educational and 153 (0.1% rate) are other.
