New batch of PIS allowance is released; see calendar

Caixa Econômica Federal released this Tuesday (22) a new batch of the PIS salary allowance.

Starting this Tuesday, those born in May can withdraw the benefit.

Payments started on the 8th, with those born in January. On the 10th, 15th and 17th it was the turn of those born in February, March and April, respectively. See the full calendar:

The PIS payment schedule varies according to the beneficiary’s month of birth:

Workers have the date of release of payment, according to the birthday month, until December 29, 2022 to withdraw the amounts.

The amount of the allowance can reach a minimum wage (R$ 1,212) and depends on the number of months worked in the base year, which for payments made this year is 2020.

You can receive those who worked with a formal contract for at least 30 days, consecutive or not, in 2020. It is also necessary to meet the following requirements:

• Be registered in the PIS or Cnis program for at least five years — that is, the first formal job must have taken place in 2015 or earlier
• Have received up to two average minimum wages of monthly remuneration in the period worked, which correspond to R$ 2,090, considering the minimum wage of R$ 1,045 in force in 2020
• Have your data reported by the employer (legal entity or government) correctly in Rais or eSocial of the base year considered for calculation (2020

Workers born in any month can check whether they are entitled to the 2022 salary bonus and the amount through the federal government’s Digital Work Card application and by calling 158.

Born from January to June can also check if they will receive in the Caixa Tem and Caixa Trabalhador apps.

On the 15th, Banco do Brasil also released the payment for public servants who are beneficiaries of the Pasep (Public Servant Asset Formation Program). The payment schedule follows the final digit of the worker’s registration number with Pasep.

The PIS/Pasep allowance must be paid to 23 million Brazilians. Of the total, 22 million will receive PIS, which represents an amount of R$ 19.5 billion. Banco do Brasil releases the money to over 1 million beneficiaries. In all, R$ 21.82 billion are paid.

The salary bonus is different from the PIS/Pasep quotas, which are due to beneficiaries who worked between 1971 and 1988 and did not withdraw the amounts, as well as their heirs, if applicable.
