More than 1.3 million employees and pensioners will see their tax returns pre-filled this year
By Chrysostomos Tsoufis
The pre-filled declarations are a very important initiative of AADE as they greatly facilitate taxpayers who save time and money. In an initiative of such a scale, however, it is possible that there will be mistakes, which, however, should not worry the taxpayer at all, as they can be corrected without much trouble.
Such a mistake was discovered by Mrs. Magdalini, a reader of skai.gr, who sent us the following e-mail:
I am retired from the State and entering Home pre-filled E1 Declaration, I have found errors in the amounts of my main pension and the amounts of the supplementary ones. Specifically the amounts far exceed the amounts I receive through my Bank Account. Because I have addressed EFKA before, I also sent an email, I never got a response, I addressed AADE, which again referred me to EFKA. My question is how should I proceed because I live in Thessaloniki and it is impossible for me to transfer.
Thank you.
The pre-completion of the tax return was based on its records AADE such as those resulting from the processing of salary or pension or remuneration certificates as submitted electronically by employers and agencies.
Because in this case the discrepancy is found in Mrs. Magdaleni’s pension, the problem is not AADE’s but the EFKA. If the discrepancy was in salary, the problem would be the employer’s.
In this case Mrs. Magdalini cannot change the numbers herself and put the correct ones as they result from the movements of her bank account. He should contact EFKA so that the body can send AADE a new file with the correct information. Mrs. Magdaleni should insist on communicating her problem not only by mail but also by phone to the EFKA service line 1555. As soon as EFKA sends the correct file to AADE, then the pre-filled amounts will also change automatically.
1.3 million employees and pensioners will see their tax returns pre-filled this year.
The Ministry of Finance may have set July 26 as the general deadline for submitting tax returns, but things are NOT exactly like that for this particular category of taxpayers.
This is because in any case their tax return is automatically finalized and submitted by AADE itself on JULY 2.
If, of course, someone wishes to do so, and after carefully checking what is written in his statement so that he does not have any unpleasant surprise like the one that awaited the Mrs. Magdalene– can ….hit the submit button earlier.
If, despite all this, the taxpayer detects a mistake after his tax return has been finalized and submitted, he has until July 26 to submit an amending return with the corrections deemed necessary without penalty as it is a main return.
