Stock prices closed lower in today’s Stock Exchange session, despite the upward initial movement, amidst losses in the European markets as well.

The market retreated after four bullish sessions during which the main stock index had posted a combined gain of 2.40%.

The General Price Index closed at 1,448.75 points, down 0.69%.

Intra-sessionally it recorded a higher price at 1,472.44 units (+0.93%).

The value of the transactions moved below the level of 100 million euros today and reached 87.58 million. euros, while 18,609,438 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 0.76%, while the mid-cap index fell 0.54%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the shares of PPA (+0.98%), Motor Oil (+0.23%) and Coca Cola HBC (+0.06%) recorded an increase.

On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the shares of ELPE (-2.38%), EYDAP (-2.04%), Elvalhalcor (-2.02%), Autohellas (-1.70%) and Lamda Development (-1.60%).

Eurobank and Alpha Bank presented the largest volume of transactions, trading 4,238,988 and 4,070,120 shares, respectively.

The highest value of transactions was recorded by Nthniki with 12.57 million euros and Piraeus with 11.86 million euros.

34 stocks moved up, 59 fell and 21 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Voyatzoglou Systems +6.14% and Intertek +3.78%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Progressive -8.73% and Ekter -3.81%.
