The program reaches every corner of Greece OPAP Sports Academies, embracing thousands of children from 200 amateur football and basketball clubs. In remote areas, where things are more difficult and opportunities are fewer, the presence of the OPAP Sports Academies is a catalyst, as their care for children extends beyond the four lines of the field.

With its holistic approach, the program wants to ensure that the good young athletes of today become better people tomorrow. In addition, it practically stands by their side in case of injuries, covering the medical costs of rehabilitation, a provision which is very important, especially for academies located in critical towns and villages.

One of these academies is the M.G.S. Orestes, in Orestiada. Parents and coaches share the same enthusiasm with their children, who, with the support of the OPAP Sports Academies, have the opportunity to engage in sports.

Support from a scientific team and distinguished athletes

The participating unions at the OPAP Sports Academies they are provided with new sports equipment and balls, while receiving training directions based on international standards. Thus, they improve the conditions and quality of their training and matches.

The program has a special scientific team of nutritionists and child psychologistswho offer psychological support to children and their parents and advise them on nutrition issues.

The program also includes distinguished former athletes, such as Legends 2004 Takis Fyssas and Angelos Charisteasand the ex international basketball player, George Kalaitziswho give valuable advice to children, help them believe in themselves and adopt healthy sports patterns.
