Panel SA: Drugstores open sale of Covid self-test through ecommerce

by

In the drugstore race to start selling Covid self-tests, the DPSP Group, owner of the Pacheco and São Paulo networks, started offering the product on the website this Tuesday (1st).

This week, the first official launches of the product in Brazilian retail take place, after Anvisa authorized the sale of self-tests in the country on January 28.

Products can only be sold after they have been registered with the agency.

In physical stores, the DPSP says that the self-test begins to be sold from Friday (4th), in units in the capitals of Rio and São Paulo, before reaching the rest of the country.

The company says it has supplied half a million units.

Competitor RaiaDrogasil also announced the start of sales in stores this week, but has not yet opened online sales.

In the rush to take the product to the market, the pharmaceutical retail giants burned the start in January, shortly after Anvisa’s release.

The networks even put the self-tests on sale even before the products were registered with the regulatory agency, but they had to collect them.
