In the June – May comparison, however, producer prices showed mild upward trends, with +0.5%.
Decreased from last year continued to be the prices of producers her euro zone and the Junebut showing an increasing trend on a monthly basis.
In particular, as announced by Eurostateurozone producer prices were down 3.2% in June from a year earlier, after falling 4.1% annually in May.
In the June – May comparison, however, they showed mild upward trends, with +0.5%.
In Greece, Eurostat’s reading showed that the producer price index ran at -2.4 y/y, slowing from -3.8% in May, but with a monthly increase of 1.8% after the 2.9% decline it had shown the previous monthly comparison.
Regarding euro area trends, on a monthly basis producer prices were flat in intermediate goods, marginally up 0.1% in capital goods, consumer durables and non-durables, while energy made up the difference with an increase by 1.6% from last year.
On the contrary, at an annual level prices were down by 2.2% in intermediate goods and by 9.4% in energy, while they showed an increase by 1.6% in capital goods, by 1.2% in non-durable consumer goods and by 0.4% in consumer goods.
