Upward trends prevailed in today’s session of the Stock Exchange, with the market covering another important ground since last Monday’s fall (-6.27%), closing within a breath of 1,400 units.

The rise in share prices took place with low turnover, while the shares of PPC, Jumbo and Piraeus outperformed from the high capitalization.

The General Price Index closed at 1,398.20 points, marking an increase of 1.08%. Intra-sessionally it recorded a higher price at 1,399, 97 points (+1.20%).

The value of the transactions amounted to 69.65 million euros, while 15,575,747 shares were traded.

The large-cap index gained 1.16%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.93%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of PPC (+2.86%), Jumbo (+2.86%), Piraeus (-2.30%), Titan (+2.01 %), of Ethniki (+1.76%) and Eurobank (+1.53%).

On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the shares of Autohellas (-1.92%), Elvalhalcor (-0.91%) and AIA (-0.67%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Piraeus and Alpha Bank, trading 4,676,762 and 4,512,007 shares, respectively.

The highest value of transactions was recorded by Piraeus with 17.63 million euros and Alpha Bank with 6.96 million euros.

62 stocks moved up, 34 fell and 20 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Intertec +4.56% and Unibios +4.29%.

The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Progressive -9.09% and Leventeris(p) -5.07%.
